Songs that Will Get You a Ticket (T13)

Posted By on May 15, 2008

Now that we’re into decent roll-down-the-windows weather while driving, I’ve compiled a list, in no particular order, of songs you should NOT have playing on your stereo while driving, or you may feel your right foot getting heavier and heavier, causing you to speed and risk getting a ticket. Not that I’m speaking from experience.

Ahem.

  1. All My Life by the Foo Fighters
  2. 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago
  3. Like a Stone by Audioslave (when they modulate up towards the end? whoa! got chills just thinking about Chris Cornell’s voice…he makes my knees quiver!)

  4. Play that Funky Music by Wild Cherry
  5. Paralyzer by Finger Eleven
  6. This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race by Fall Out Boy
  7. California Love by Tupac
  8. Hella Good by No Doubt
  9. Canned Heat by Jamiroquai
  10. Killing in the Name by Rage Against the Machine
  11. Higher Ground by the Red Hot Chili Peppers
  12. Vasoline by the Stone Temple Pilots
  13. Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5 (and Adam Levine makes it harder for me to breathe…whoo!  the HOTness!  And uh, actually Justin used to look a lot like this when he was younger…that might explain the attraction)

  1. I’m very old, apparently, because I’ve never even heard of half these people/bands. I’m guessing aside from Chicago they aren’t on XM 8 All 80s all the time?

  2. Karen says:

Great, I’m an old woman. I won’t even reveal how many of those I don’t know.

  3. Madame Queen says:

I know most of those songs. I’ve got a few fast driving songs of my own…I need to do a list like this!

  4. LaskiGal says:

Great list!!! What about Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins???

Paralyzer totally gets me going–especially when running. I’m an Olympian on some of these songs . . .

  5. Colleen says:

Whew! I was starting to think that I had very odd taste in music that no one knew about! (AFF and Karen, y’all aren’t that old…just listen you might recognize a few, even if they’re ones you quickly turn off the radio…ha ha).

  6. Jesse says:

Rockin set you’ve put together!!!! I love it when people appreciate more than one kind of music. Broadens the horizons, I say. *And gives some pleasant mental images!

  7. You’re right about that! :)

Obviously being older than you, I especially like 2 and 4.

Stop by my TT when you get a moment!

  8. Thanks for visiting my blog. Great list, and I totally agree.

  9. Insane Mama says:

    I have teenagers…GOD HELP ME!
So all I get to hear these days is Techno… It sucks

  10. I dunno, man . . . that guy looks a little scrawny for my taste. Those arms look more feeble than mine!

  11. Jen T. says:

Great list Colleen! I definetely do have lead foot more with these songs as well! :)

  12. Vera says:

I’ll be off getting streams of those songs, you made me want to listen now, hehe. I must admit though, i stared at the photo longer than I read the list ;)

You, my dear, have excellent taste!
